Thường sơn

Thường sơn (Dichroa febrifuga), còn gọi là chang shan, là dược liệu có lịch sử dùng trong y học Trung cổ để điều trị sốt rét. Rễ cây chứa hợp chất hoạt chất febrifugine, có hoạt tính kháng malaria. Tuy nhiên, do tác dụng phụ, nghiên cứu sâu về febrifugine bị hạn chế. Từ đó, nhà khoa học đã phát triển các dẫn xuất như halofuginone, giữ lại hoạt tính nhưng giảm độc tính, đồng thời nghiên cứu ứng dụng trong điều trị bệnh tự miễn và viêm. Ngoài ra, gen di truyền của Thường sơn cũng đã được sequenced để phân tích quan hệ phả hệ.
